Another chapter? Say what!?!? Yes! I am finally back after a very long unplanned hiatus. I am not going to bore you guys with a super long explanation so just know that between it being my last year of University and life catching up with me, things kind of fell behind and not just the sims. But, once again I am back and I am hoping that I can stick to it. I am going to try and post once a week (either The Ravenwoods or The Spences [or both if I have time]) but I can't promise anything!
I know it has been a while so here's a little bit of a recap if you need it ...
Kennedie Ravenwood was an Immortal; a breed of humans who cannot die unless killed or stripped of their humanity. The Immortals lived in secrecy for centuries as nomads and lived by only one rule: don't get attached to any mortal - in other words do not befriend or fall in love with them. Kennedie broke this rule with a man named Jake. The two fell in love and hid it from her clan. Due to an unplanned pregnancy, her clan discovered their secret, banished Kennedie and took her child. As punishment and as a chance to redeem herself, Kennedie's immortality was taken from her so she could establish herself in Moonlight Falls and help the Immortals settle there. She has ten generations to accomplish this task inorder to be reborn as an Immortal as well as her remaining family. However, the loss of her daughter and Jake have obviously torn Kennedie apart, and before she can start on her task, she has to manage to pull herself to gether first.
Now that you're caught up, you can read the other chapters here:

1.0 Or just continue on...
As Kennedie laid there holding her pounding head and trying to settle the room, she realized she hadn’t eaten a single thing since she arrived in Moonlight Falls. Deciding that that would be the culprit for her unsettled stomach she rummaged through her empty fridge and cupboards and decided on some bread and jam.
As she scarfed down the food she tried to remember what had happened the night before but she could only put together bits and pieces before giving up and deciding that maybe it was best left a lost memory.
While she was cleaning up after her late breakfast, her phone started ringing. At first, Kennedie couldn’t imagine who would be calling her, but as she answered the phone and heard the voice on the other end, she began to recall the Fairy she had met at the bar, Pip.
“Hello?”
“Hi Kennedie, how are you feeling?
”
Kennedie shrugged, “Been better, I guess but not too terrible.”
“Good. I was a little bit worried about you after I left. Thought I would call and check-in.”
“That was very sweet of you. I am fine though, from what I can remember anyway.”
“Well, I am glad. These streets can get a little rough at night with all the different Supernaturals roaming around. I’m relieved to hear your voice.”
“They can? I thought Moonlight Falls was supposed to be a safe haven for everyone different.”
“Usually, it is. But, it’s to be expected that the Supernaturals butt heads every once and a while, and sometimes a new face in town sends everyone into a frenzy. You can’t blame them, really. After years of being scrutinized for being what we are, sometimes a new face means bad things and that causes people of all sorts to be on edge. But don’t worry, I will make sure that everyone here knows you are definitely not here to cause any harm.”
“Uhm, thanks Pip.” Kennedie couldn’t help but be shocked with what she had just heard. When she came here, she was sure that everyone would be welcoming to anyone new and of any species, it was odd to hear different. This would definitely make it harder to make the Immortals known and respected among a population who were already naturally suspicious.
“Of course. But hey, I have to get going. Again, I am glad you’re safe. Keep it that way, alright? And maybe stay away from the alcohol for a while. I’ll talk to you soon Kennedie. Until then!”
Kennedie couldn’t help but laugh a little, “You too, Pip.”
Talking with Pip made her realize that she and the Immortals knew even less about the other Supernaturals than they thought. As far as she knew, Moonlight Falls was a sanctuary, a safe haven and that was exactly why her people picked this town to send her to. Knowing now that this may not be completely true meant that Kennedie had much more work to do than she thought, and before she did anything else she decided that the most important part of her being here would be to find out as much as she could about the others before she asked them to consider the Immortals. That being said, she decided the first race she would get to know was of course, the fairies.
As soon as she was cleaned up, Kennedie set off to the local arboretum to hopefully find some answers. She walked through fields of flowers, and admired the beautiful surroundings. However, after spending the majority of the day turning over rocks and searching the area as if she lost jewelry and not a person, she didn’t learn any more about the fairies than she already knew. She felt stupid for thinking this place would help her and left the building in a huff. That’s when it hit her. The only way she was going to find out more about the fairies is by asking a Fairy she can already trust - Pip.
Kennedie quickly pulled out her phone and called Pip’s number. She wasn’t sure what she was going to say or ask, or how he would react but she knew her best bet to finding information not only about the fairies, but the other Supernaturals and Moonlight Falls was through him. After a couple rings, he finally picked up.
“Kenndie, is everything alright?”
“Uh y-yeah, of course, everything is great actually. I was actually hoping that you were free tonight?”
“Sorry sweetie, I am stuck with the kids tonight. It’s the wife’s turn to go out. But, I’m free tomorrow if you want to meet up then?”
“Y-yeah, sure. That sounds great. Sorry to bother you so much, Pip.”
“No worries, honestly. I’m glad to be a friend. Call me tomorrow and we will work something out, alright?”
“Sure. Good night Pip.”
“You too.”
It was settled, she would start getting to know Pip, and then hopefully gain more information from him soon. For the first time she got here, Kennedie felt confident that she was doing what she had been asked to do and was going in the right direction.
It wasn’t until later that night that the familiar feeling of being alone and lost overwhelmed her as she sat in front of her T.V. alone. She tried hard to focus on what the lady was saying about different plants but her mind had other plans for her. Images of her entire life passed her by - when she was first found, her clan, her first memories of being told what she was, her best friend Nicole, meeting Jake, her daughter, and right up until where she sat now. Kennedie shot up out of her seat and rummaged through her cupboards frantically, searching and praying that there was even just one bottle of alcohol somewhere. Finally, in the farthest cupboard she found a bottle of wine. She slumped down on the floor, bottle in hand and drank until the tears stopped flowing from her eyes.
The next morning she was woken up to the buzzing of her phone. She was surprised to find herself in her bed and begrudgingly sat up to answer her phone.
“H-hello?”
“Oh no. Don’t tell me, you found your friend vodka again?”
Kennedie couldn’t help but smile, “Nope, wine this time.”
“I’m outside. Plans sort of changed, but I was a little worried about you. Get yourself cleaned up and come and meet me.”
“Sure.”
As she pulled on her clothes and went to the bathroom to wash her face, brush her hair and teeth she couldn’t help but feel better somehow knowing that someone here cared whether or not she was living and breathing. That burden in her heart of being alone felt a little lighter with the thought that maybe she could do this, with the help of Pip of course. Kennedie smiled, and hurried off to greet her friend at the door. When she got outside, she was surprised to find it raining and Pip standing patiently with his toddler daughter in toe.
“Why didn’t you tell me it was raining? I could have let you in first.”
“Ah, it just started. It’s not bad really. How are you feeling?”
“Kind of like a truck hit me to be perfectly honest.”
“You know, I’m starting to worry that this is going to become a habit. Are you sure you’re alright here alone?”
Kennedie hesitated, was she alright here alone? Was this how things were going to be? Waking up every morning with a hangover, no closer to her duty? She nodded, “I’m alright Pip. It’s not a habit, I promise.”
Pip smiled weakly, “Good. Well, I don’t have a lot of time to talk. Unfortunately, I am on baby duty again. I just wanted to make sure everything was alright. You sounded a little … off on the phone last night.”
“Thank you Pip, it means a lot that you came by. Can I see you again soon?”
“Well, that’s another reason I came by actually. If you’re up to it, maybe we can meet up for a couple drinks at the Red Velvet Lounge?”
“Yes, of course. It’s not like I have much going on here that I wouldn’t be available. When?”
Pip chuckled, “Well that’s the thing. Between work, and my wife needing a break from the kids, it won’t be for a couple days. Next Wednesday?”
“Sure.” Kennedie couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed. Tonight was only Monday. She couldn’t understand why he was so busy all of a sudden, but she forced herself to try. He has a life; she couldn’t expect him to just put everything on hold for her. After all, they just met and even if they had known each other for years, she still couldn’t expect that he would put his life on hold to see her.
“I hope you’re not too disappointed. I know it’s a long time away, but life is a little crazy right now. You understand, don’t you?”
“Yes of course. I’m sorry! I understand completely.”
“Good. It’s settled then. I will see you on Wednesday?”
“I’ll be there.”
With a slight wave and a nod of the head, Pip was gone and in his car to go home. Kennedie stood outside for a few minutes wondering what she was going to do with herself for over a week in this tiny town alone.
As she stood there, the sun came out and the sky cleared as the rain stopped. It turned out to be quite beautiful, and Kennedie felt inspired. She pulled out her guitar and began to play nothing in particular. She let her fingers flow over the keys, and find their own rhythm. She listened to the overall silence of the town and was filled with the calmness her music made. For the first time since she got there, her mind was empty and she felt free.
As the notes carried her away, time passed quickly and quietly. Kennedie was so absorbed in the feeling of her fingers sliding on the stings and the melody that reached her ears she almost didn’t hear the car horn. She stopped and turned, confused as to who was honking at her and worried that she may have annoyed someone with her music. When she saw the car parked in front of her house, reality struck her. Today was her first day of work and she had nearly forgotten. She quickly signaled the car to wait, packed up her guitar, changed into her work clothes and was off.
The days flew by and she received a promotion by the time that Wednesday finally came. She was surprised how easy it was to forget her troubles and threw herself into her job. It wasn’t glamourous and didn’t pay the best but it was a step to one of her personal goals.
That night, she went to the Red Velvet Lounge at about 6 pm and ordered a round of drinks for her and Pip while she waited. It wasn’t until she got there that she was reminded of her task. How she was going to get him to talk about the Supernaturals and Moonlight Falls still evaded her, and after being here for over a week, she was concerned about making some kind of progress before the Elders got angry and took her life away completely. She grabbed one of the drinks and kept swallowing until it was gone. As she took the last sip, her phone buzzed and Pip asked her to meet him outside
“Hey! How have you been?”
“Great actually! Work has been fantastic.”
“I’m glad you seem to be settling in now. I’m sorry it’s been so long!”
“No, no. It’s alright. I was surprised with how busy work kept me, it wouldn’t have worked to meet sooner anyways.”
“Good. There’s been a bit of a change again.”
Kennedie’s stomach dropped. “You can’t stay?”
Pip smiled, and put his hand on her back, “No. We’re just going somewhere else. Shall we?”
Kennedie felt her body shudder from the slight touch. She knew it was merely a friendly gesture, innocent even, but the sensation of having genuine human contact sent her body in a frenzy. It had been a long time since she felt any sort of physical connection, friendly or otherwise.
Pip led her into a building where the found a seat by the bar. She was surprised to see him drink as greedily as she had only moments before.
“Rough week?”
Pip chuckled as he wiped his mouth and put down the empty glass, “Just glad to be away from the family for a while.”
“How long have you and your wife been married?”
“It was sort of arranged since we were kids. Not too many fairies around and Dahlia’s family took me in when I was young.”
“Arranged? People still do that?” Kennedie bit her lip, “Sorry, that was rude…”
Pip smiled and grabbed another drink, “No, it’s alright. It’s something a lot of Supernaturals still do in order to keep the bloodline pure. There are few who marry across races here.”
Kennedie thought back to her previous life and how discouraged every Immortal was from making any friendships beyond their own people. Once again she was disappointed to find that her original thoughts of a free population in Moonlight Falls was shattered.
“So, nobody marries outside of their own then? A Human to a Human, a Fairy to a Fairy… does it ever change?”
“It does happen, but not very often. When it does, it’s often seen as a scandal. The supernatruals here live together in peace for the most part, but they are also proud of what they are and mixing blood with another is like saying they don’t care.”
“That seems so … “
“Stupid? Yeah. It is.”
Pip laughed and ordered them another round of drinks. They chatted more about marriage in Moonlight Falls and his family. He told her how he didn’t know his parents and besides him and his wife’s family, there were only two other fairies in town. Dahlia’s mother was old and very much set in her ways; more so than many others in town. When he was taken in, he was told from a very young age that the only reason he was taken in was to marry Dahlia and continue a pure blood line. Kennedie, feeling a little less inhibited, asked if he loved his wife. Pip took a swig of his drink and then said, “I respect her.” Taking that as a sign to change the subject, Kennedie looked around the room and noticed a man standing behind them near the fire place. He was looking in her direction, and smiled at her. Kennedie blushed. She wasn’t sure why, but his smile made her stomach flip.
“Pip, who is that man over there?”
“The one with the tattoos?”
Kennedie nodded and looked at the man through the corner of her eye.
“That’s Malcolm Harris. He’s bad news.”
“Really? How?”
“He just is Ken. Trust me.”
Kennedie glanced back at Malcolm who was still standing near the fireplace, but was now chatting with someone else. “He’s human right?”
Pip looked over at her, concern filling his eyes, “Yes, but that doesn’t make him any less of a threat. Kennedie, promise me you’ll stay away from him, please?”
“Will you at least tell me why?”
Pip sighed, he looked down at his phone and turned on the screen to see the time. It was already 12 am. “Another day, Ken. I have to get going, Dahlia will have my head if I wake up the baby. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll stay away from Malcolm.”
Kennedie nodded while Pip finished the last of his drink and then turned to leave. He said a quick good bye and she ordered another drink. When she turned her head again, Malcolm was out of site.
Bored, but not quite ready to go home she walked over to the chair in front of the fire place and watched the flames for a while. She wasn’t drunk but she was definitely buzzed. She could feel her head spinning a bit while she repeated Pip’s warning in her head. She couldn’t understand why Malcolm was so dangerous, but that almost made her want to find out even more. After all, Jake had been a “bad guy” too and he ended up being the sweetest man she had ever met. Kennedie knew that that wasn’t the case for everyone, but she wanted to believe that people were misunderstood and good by nature. While she tried to convince herself to heed Pip’s warning, and let this mysterious man go, she was started by a sudden voice behind her.
“Shit! You have to be kidding me!”
Kennedie turned just in time to see Malcolm walking towards the door. Before she could think it through, she was out of her seat and following him.
“Wait!”
Kennedie extended her hand, “I’m new in town. My name is Kennedie Ravenwood. You’re Malcolm Harris right?”
Malcolm looked down at her hand and smiled; he took it and looked back into her big blue eyes, “The Fairy told you that did he?”
“Pip. Yes, he told me your name.”
“Did he tell you anything else about me?”
Kennedie bit her lip, “No. Nothing else - just your name.”
He laughed, “I doubt that. Everyone has something to say about me.”
“Oh?”
“That’s the way it goes in this town. You’d be smart to learn that quickly. Everyone here has their own agenda, their own ideas of right and wrong, their own fucked up opinions about everyone and everything.”
Kennedie stared at him, confused by what she was seeing. He reminded her so much of Jake in so many ways; the dark hair, the scruff, the dark stranger look. She couldn’t help but smile at him and think that there was no way he could be bad and remind her so much of someone so good.
“Um, Kennedie? You alright? Look, I’d love to stay and chat but I have to get going.”
“Couldn’t you stay for one drink, maybe a dance?”
Malcolm locked eyes with her, confused. How could this girl be so willing to talk to him after what Pip said? Malcolm had heard everything, Pip’s warning, Kennedie’s interest. He had been watching her since he came in. She moved with such elegance, her laugh brightened the whole room. She was beautiful in a way so much more than how she looked. He was drawn to her instantly. He had been planning on talking to her when he had heard Pip warn her to stay away. He was so angry he punched the wall in the bathroom. When she approached him, he couldn’t help but be annoyed that his chances had already been ruined with her and went on a rant about this town he hated. Yet, here she was, asking to have a drink with him despite all that.
“One drink, but I don’t dance.”
“You might after a drink”, she laughed.
After a drink, another followed, and then another. Kennedie was fascinated by this man and the way he talked about absolutely nothing and made it seem like it was the most important thing she was going to hear all week. He made her laugh, and she made him laugh too. Someone pulled out a guitar near the end of the night and started playing an Ed Sheeran song. Kennedie grabbed Malcolm’s hand before he could resist and the danced until the bar closed at 2:00 am. Kennedie went home that night with the promise of seeing him again and a smile on her face.
