All the little things that make up my life...

NaNo news: I broke the 2K mark today :) I'm finally able to work on aforementioned scene, though it is taking its own sweet time in working out. Me-thinks it'll end up spanning another thousand words at least. That's good, since it moves the NaNo goal ahead, but the characters are being moody. The mother is still giving me problems, and now my protagonist has decided to join her @_@ Tempermental characters deserve a time out in the corner!

Life got busier unexpectadly - I have now joined two student groups and have assumed the role of student leader. The entire proceedings were unplanned and quite rushed. It might not be the wisest move to make academically, however, I do find the hands-on experience infinitely more satisfying and educational than the book-work. I just have to find the balance so my academic life doesn't suffer because of my new involvements. I guess that means social life will experience a drastic cut. *shrug* In my books, that is absolutely worth it.

As for the AC - like they say "tomorrow never comes." I am still waiting for my tomorrow and the AC guys to show up. If my landlord isn't able to get them to come tomorrow, I'm taking things into my own hands and contacting the office. I've adjusted to living with the fans, but it is not conducive to happy living. For one thing, the mosquitoes have taken a liking to the heat in my room. I am now covered in bites and running out of hydrocortisone! :( Secondly, I've noticed an increase in the number of little critters that are crawling through all sorts of cracks. The only change in my standard of living has been the AC/heat factor, so I really need this to be fixed before I have maggots in my rice and ants in my sugar :(

With the end of the semester approaching within a month's time, I'm starting to get more excited about going home and less interested in school work. I need to give myself a serious lecture, shake myself up and apply those brains I'm supposed to have back to the school work and studying. I think I can, I think I can...

I wish I were home for black friday - I really want a new camera! No hope of convincing my mum though. She's quite certain I can manage life on a 2px camera. I don't think she realizes that even cell phones have higher resolution cameras now :(

Countdown: 33days and 18hours to baking cookies with my lil sis, making a belated thanksgiving dinner with mom, and watching a movie with my dad!

nanowrimo, countdown, worries, medical school
