Ranting ... 'cauz I'm allowed :D

Nov 01, 2005 19:06

This morning I slept right through both my alarms. I also slept through Cait's phone call (both of us did :D). I ended up waking around 11 something due to some really loud talking outside our door.

C'mon guys. We're not asking for much, just a little respect and some quiet. Caitlin finally had to get out of bed and ask them to keep it down. All I heard from the hall was "You guys have been sleeping all this time?" ... Erm, well, I don't see how that matters all that much, but yah! I don't really like the incredulity I hear in your voice, or for that matter, the accusation. Sorry for being tired? Sorry for sleeping in? Uh, on second thought, neither Cait nor I find any reason to feel soor. I know it sounds bad, what with us sleeping till so late. But both of us have been burning the candle to the end - sleeping really late into the night - and it was catching up. Not to mention, some of the staying up is because the suitemates can be a little (okay, really) loud sometimes.

I'm not really complaining. I got some extra sleep in. But it's still one rude heck of a way to be woken up. Honestly, do you really need to talk that loudly when you're standing right next to the person? Yah, I didn't think so.

The bad part of sleeping in was that I missed my Bio Lab. I've emailed my TA and am waiting for a response. Hopefully I'll be able to make it up. Otherwise, *shrug* I'll work really hard...what else is there to do. No excuses, no explanations, I've just been really exhausted and was burnt out. I took a mental health day *shrug*

The icing on the cake was later on. I had just finished my shower, and was in the bathroom, when I overheard my name in conversation. Obviously, my curiosity was peaked. The next thing I hear, someone (okay, I know who it was, but what's the point in laying blame *shrug*), asked if I had gone to lab at all today. A negative answer (duh), and then they are speculating about my attendance habits.

Excuse me ladies, but that would be my schedule you're discussing, my attendance habit you're gossiping about, and my money spent in whichever way I choose. You really don't need to concern yourself with my priorities. I'm quite confident I'm capable of creating, observing and maintaining them. If you have a problem with my attendance - not that you should - please discuss it with me...not the other suitemates. I love back talking (I don't classify what I've done in this entry as such, because I have not taken any names (other than Cait's). As well, this is a public forum (they all have access to it and are free to respond (preferably with a bloody name!)).

Which brings me to my second gripe. I've been receiving some anonymous comments on my entries. While I appreciate the response (I always love reading responses, regardless of whether they are positive or not), I do not appreciate that whoever is leaving them, does not have the courage to stand by their words. I see it as a form of cowardice. If you cannot take responsibility and lay claim to your words, they are an utter waste. I choose to disregard most anonymous comments. I have gone as far as to delete some. However, this one person (and I'm fairly sure it's been the same person these last three times) has really irked me. Obviously it's someone I know, I'd go as far as to say it's a person on my floor. We are living together, and therefore should have some modicum of respect. Respect includes being able to put your name down next to what you have to say.

It especially upsets me when people have only negative things to say, and then don't leave an identification. It upsets me because, more often than not, that person does not really know me, but feels confident enough (ironically, since he/she doesn't leave a name behind) to slander me in a public forum, at what I consider my cyber-home. Because it really is like inviting someone to your home, and then, at the end of the evening, having them tell you they had a miserable time, your home is ugly and you're bad company. Um...why did you come in the first place then?

Well, I've had enough ranting on this topic for the night. As usual I look forward to hearing from you. (Snuggles! You always make me feel better...*hug*)

complain, respect, update, rant
