It's best I get my entry done now since we'll be heading to the airport soon and then who knows what's going to happen?
It's pretty wild out there in the other room, so it's nice getting a breather in here. The kids are having a good time though, which is the important thing. I don't know how Rafiq's going to handle Shawn leaving since I know he's not looking forward to it, but I hope that the fact that he's hyper is going to help. Mikel has volunteered to distract the kids for awhile after we get back, which is only right since he got them hyped up. At least it's a good distraction for him, too.
It's been a fun summer, and it's been very nice to feel so much less stress. If I'm lucky, this will carry off into the school year and beyond. I don't have my hopes up too high, but we'll see where it goes. I'm trying to be optimistic, but it's hard. I used to be very optimistic, so maybe I can tap back into that again. I have no idea how, but we'll see.
I know this is cutting it a little short, but I don't want to miss the rest of the festivities. Rafiq got Shawn a gift that I think he's really going to like and I don't want to miss out on his reaction.
