A few days ago I tried a memory crystal.  It was less than ten minutes of flying in a pointer, hunting down what has to have been a bomb in an airspeeder.  I found out a few things, which I've been thinking over.  There's a certain, very small amount that can be almost-remembered by asking yourself yes-or-no questions and picking which answer " ( Read more... )

Stars and more stars. Can something from space cause tectonic shifting?

[Badpings for the World Devastators? Yep.]

I think so. Not that I know the science. But... I wouldn't be surprised if there are machines that can do that.

Too much power and control in one source.

It's - [Pause]

Tip of the tongue syndrome, sorry. But I agree.

Photos in the brain at varying degrees of graininess - worse, here. Common though.

I doubt that I ever had a cleanly holographic memory, but I know I'm not alone in that.

Trying to find out just how far the amnesia goes is probably the most useless few hours I've spent. I hope the rain stops soon.

clearly holographic is a contradiction in terms

it goes far far deep deep blocks the mind like shrouds of fog

Cleanly. A hologram with no flickers, no motes of white light or static, one that's steady and looks exactly like what was recorded.

But the parts that aren't covered - I know that humans are mammals, that a star is an incredibly huge mass of plasma going through nuclear fusion, and that if I don't cut my hair it will get long. These are such trivial things to remember.

Common sense versus personal learning?

I don't know. What a star is is probably common sense to someone, but not me. Maybe it's personally relevant information.

science should be common sense to everyone
