Quotes of the day
I was on the bus on the way home when I overheard a conversation of a boy that was sitting at the seat behind me. He was speaking in chinese, talking about a friend that had a run in with the law. Probably still a minor as I heard a PO, MCYS being involved. And that his friend might have to go to the boys' home afterall because he violated his probation terms, and although his PO has been turning a blind eye, apparently the friend was caught stealing $50 from his dad, and the dad reported him to the PO because he thinks that his friend and I quote, "手脚不干净".
After that I heard him repeating the same story again, now in english. So i though he was narrating the situation to his friend that was sitting beside. So i was basically trying not to eavesdrop until the $50 part where his went, I quote again "The dad think his hand not clean, you know his hand not clean. You understand?"
at this point I was mentally spasing in my head already,
手脚不干净 =/= Hand not clean
but his friend did not respond, which made me realise that he was talking on the phone. So he continued his conversation telling the other party that he was on his way home, reaching hougang mall soon, and the panda beside him (his friend, pretty big size compared to him) was taking up alot of space on the seat.
So I guess his friend start whacking him or something and he went, "Dear (or is it baby) help me, the panda is strangling me. Quick give me a sugar cane so that I can tame this panda."
and he said that not once not twice but at least 3 times....
or, so which rock did I crawl into that I didn't know pandas eat sugar cane now..
anyway...I though it was some sort of ah beng type guy talking, but when he got off the bus, he looked really studious, with glasses and all.
