Hello, hello! Once again I've taken a few days off LJ to attend to RL and come back weeks later. Lame. But so good to be back.
This Monday is my birthday. I thought long and hard about what to do for it, since my annual trip to Wincon is not to be, but couldn't come up with anything original. Had thought about a massage but decided to put it off because I can't quite be bothered to find a place and make an appointment, which says a lot about how excited I am about the idea. So Sunday afternoon my sis and J. are taking me out to see "Lucy" followed by sushi, and I think that will be special. Sometimes I look up and realize I have family and close friends around me, and it's nice.
Have realized I'm living my life in a neverending cycle of procrastination, and that it. must. end. There will always be more to do (omg grading *shakes fists*), but a number of things have been on my desk for months or longer, and I spend way too much mental energy thinking about them and reserving imaginary time in the future to get them done. So my birthday present to myself is to clear my desk. I think that will result in tangible happiness.
To that end, this weekend I'm finishing up the IRS paperwork and other filings to officially close the nonprofit where I used to work. I have no idea how that task landed on me. Likely in a fit of boundary-blasting I volunteered for it. I am my own worst enemy.
Fannish things on my to-do list are also a little backlogged. People I owe things to: despair not! I want to do some podficcing this month, join the mini-nano for November and use it to do some writing commitments, and hopefully be caught up in time for awesome winter challenges.
The most important thing I can share with y'all atm is the wonderful story someone wrote me for
spn_summergen! It's called
Osiris Rising and it has Sam going down to hell to rescue Dean at the end of S3, and it is exciting and all about brothers being brothers, and just yay! all around!
