It's finally gotten cold around here, at least by my standards, which is to say it freezes at night and it reaches the high 60's by mid-day. I've pulled out the sweaters, put extra quilts on the bed and bought a new robe to putz around the house in last night. The gas heat in the house warms up quickly, but when I come downstairs in the morning and the thermostat reads somewhere in the neighborhood of 58-63, it's not pleasant for the first five minutes or so. Luckily dad's going to come and caulk all of our windows soon.
We're painting the dining room finally, this beautiful dove gray color that I'm very fond of. Despite the fact that I desperately want to paint all of the dark wood trim a bright, glossy white (B is constantly vetoing this - boys and their dark wood), it all looks really nice together. The blue tiles of the dining room fireplace really pop now. I can't wait to have it all cleaned up and actually host dinner.
There is a little cat who has taken up residence at our house. She's clean, probably about a year old, has been fixed and declawed, and was obviously someone's loving house cat. She sits in your lap like a little lady while you do anything and is very affectionate. We really, really, really don't need a third cat and Princess is not fond of her at all. Someone please come and rescue this kitty. Please.
Can't wait for next game. OMG, it should be very interesting. Time to pull out the leather jacket and the ass-kicking boots again.
On that subject, I'm still madly in love with ViVi and
writing on her story like a fiend. I've considered taking it all and posting it to the NaNoWrMo site to see how many words I have on her. I've got the ideas for a novel based on her story minus the vampire bits and the Hunter v. Pitch tale stewing around in my head. Who knows what might come out of it.
Hit 56 in WoW recently. Need to hit 60.
In the last few weeks B and I have rented/bought and watched:
The Quick and the Dead, of Louis L'Amour fame, not the one with Sharon Stone. It was really good. <3 Sam Elliott.
Quigley Down Under which was also very good and HILARIOUS. Also, Alan Rickman as a young man!
Hostel: Part 2. Obviously I didn't watch this one. B said it was alright, although not worth buying. There is an Elizabeth Bathory scene though, if you didn't know.
As You Like It. revelsofthedead, you need to rent this. It's set in a fictional 19th century Japan. The colors are amazing and Bryce Dallas Howard is absolutely radiant.
There's more, but I don't right remember.
