hey there-- thanks for reading! I will always post stuff when I can, just using the FO function, as I have mostly been doing anyway (as you now know!) Glad you're on board. :-)
As for "Mandi", no update. I didn't do anything. I really didn't feel I had the right. If I had witnessed it myself, it would be different. I still think about it sometimes. But there are so many children out there in situations that bad or worse... I can't think too much bout it, or I would go crazy.
I am going to keep my eyes open for an opportunity to do something, though. My sister, who is doing really well in addiction recovery, told me a parable that had really inspired her:
A guy walks onto the beach and it is covered with millions of starfish, stranded and dying in the sun. Soon he notices a woman walking along, picking up the live starfishes and throwing them into the sea.
"Why do you bother?" he asked her. "Almost all of these starfish are going to die, and even if you spent all your time here, you can hardly save even a tiny fraction of them. What does it matter?"
The woman picked up a starfish and tossed it in the ocean. "It matters to that one," she said.
