Friends Only

For awhile now I haven't posted anything "real" publically, but I used to be more foolish about that. It's so hard to get anyone to pay attention in this world, I felt anonymous ( Read more... )

It's sad that you have come to that realization. I humbly ask you to consider posting an introspective "about me" post and making it public. Here's why: when I was browsing journals to add as friends, I was really stricken by yours and your writing style. It always painted a picture for me and, for that reason, deserves to be read by people who appreciate thoughtful journals. With your old entries being friends-only, I worry that you won't find new readers. (Of course, if this is okay with you, then disregard.)

That is not to say that I disagree with you -- I completely support your decision to go Friends Only -- I have long ago learned that "public in an enclave of people" like LJ is still public to the whole world; and there's stuff I just don't want the whole world to know.

I have enjoyed the journey that your journal has taken me on. Thank you for writing. :-)

I can't tell you how great it felt to hear this from you. When I have time, I will try to do something like what you suggest. I think it's a good idea. Of course, I don't know when I'll even have time to "friends only" everything, so it's kind of moot.

It's just nice that you enjoy reading what I write. I feel like most folks don't pay much attention, not that I can find fault with that. I think you are one of only a couple of people who actually added ME. Most people on my friends list I went out and found, and added first.

Anyway, I'm glad you and I found each other, and I really enjoy reading your journal, too. Thanks for your words. :-)

Thank you so much. Yes, I would still post lighthearted things publically when it felt right.

By the way, I saw your entry wondering where everyone on LJ had got to... I am still reading, I just don't have much time to post. I am glad your daughter is recovering well, that both daughters are moving forward in life, and that you seem to be doing well. I always enjoy your words. Take care!

hey there-- thanks for reading! I will always post stuff when I can, just using the FO function, as I have mostly been doing anyway (as you now know!) Glad you're on board ( ... )
