How do I fit 12 GB worth of music on a 2 GB player?

How do I decide what to take with me and what to leave behind for six weeks?

That mp3 player will be home for the time abroad. I'll depend on it. I'll need it to stay sane. 2 GB is not enough. Not when I have to leave behind everything else that is home and safe and familiar.
