I just got the 3-disc special edition of "
Long Way Round" the other day, and it's really an addictive watch. It's the tv series about how Ewan McGregor + his best pal Charley Boorman managed to go from London to New York on motorbikes heading east for the
Long Way Round instead, going thru Europe, thru Russia + Mongolia etc, to Alaska + Canada and finally, New York.
My parents without understanding much of what was said on screen enjoyed the show enough to have sat thru a handful of episodes with me today, and yesterday evening
valbasement + I had crazy laughters just watching Ewan + Charley going thru the before-trip preparations...
Oh, how I envy those 2!! Just think what you'd like to do if you have such a golden opportunity to just get out and see the world without having to worry much about anything at all?? Just to be out there and feel the culture shock would be enough to change your general outlook on life. It's hard to not regret on things you possibly have missed in life, but then again, whose fault is that?? No one else but your own, I'd say?? The idea is to just plan ahead and seize the day as it comes!! It's not that you can't, but maybe deep down inside you don't really have put your heart into it. If you really wanna go, if you really wanna do it, then surely nothing could have stopped you??
Overall, it's simply great to be able to watch the 2 on the go!! I've already done 8 episodes out of 13, so I guess I should slow down a bit, esp when I've already reached Canada, where the roads are already smooth + beautiful and less of an adventure, not to mention the upcoming bits in the US!!
So, I'll do my best to hold off the rest 5 episodes for now... 8)
