Being nostalgic surely means something, doesn't it??

I used to be this major crazy fan of Mick Karn, who left the group Japan and later formed this short-lived awesome duo with Bauhaus' Peter Murphy back in the 80s. Memories are all flushing back to me because I found this clip from Youtube. And I thought I have forgotten all about Mick and his lovely fretless bass... How could I forget though?? All my passwords + codes that require numbers have had at least something to do with his birthday, lol.

Here is a brief documentary in 1999 on Japan the band, in which Mick's the bassist. Well, he's actually a multi-instrumentalist, really gifted and all that; he has problem reading music, but can play almost anything by hearing. As for that annoying lead singer of Japan (yes, David Sylvian), his best work IMHO was probably "Forbidden Colours" that he did with Ryuichi Sakamoto, but to me he can never beat Mick!!

Being nostalgic sometimes is just no fun when you realise it's been decades ago already, when most of your heroes are approaching 50 or already in their 50s...

uomo, music
