Although I'll be saving the this vid for when I have seen the 2010 episodes (more of a fan of classic Who myself, so I haven't been keeping up with the new ones so much), let me just say that I'm really looking forward to it! I've been a fan of your vids ever since the Stargate: Atlantis days and am really pleased to see you vidding in another fandom I'm familiar with.
I'm a bit of an Old School Who fan myself. The Doctor was my childhood hero (which has a certain irony when you learn about the new companion in the 2010 series). I do love NuWho too and especially the work of Steven Moffat who took over as Head Writer with this new season. And as much as I loved David Tenant as the Doctor, I think this year's season is the best of the new stuff yet.
Hope you like the vid. I've been feeling nostalgic for SGA recently. I've sort of got an idea for a team vid for the Dorktastic 4 - just finding the time to vid is the problem.
Hey there! I'm delighted to see a new vid from you, and I really enjoyed this -- wonderful song and fantastic editing, as always. (One of the reasons why I love your vids so much is that you always find great songs -- they're usually kind of obscure, so not over-vidded, and very much to my taste.)
Glad you liked the vid. I think you and I have similar taste in music. There have been a few songs in bids recced by you that I've discovered I liked too. One was actually a Doctor Who vid to What About Everything.
Have you been watching the new series of Doctor Who? I've probably totally spoiled it for you with this vid if you haven't. I love the new Tardis Team so much! Although I loved David Tennant, I didn't enjoy the last few specials as much but the new season has revitalized my love entirely. I feel like kid again! I'd be interested to know what you thought.
And now that I've got a handle on Final Cut, I really want to take another stab at a SGA vid that I've had in mind for a while. I call it "Dorktastic 4" ;-P
I do think our taste in music is pretty similar (and our taste in a lot of other things, for that matter!).
Doctor Who, though, and the new season ... I dunno. It took me a long time to warm up to the new Doctor and Amy, and even by the end of the season, I'm still not sure if I've settled with them the way that I did with Ten and Martha, or Ten and Donna. I adore Rory (and was delighted with his arc), but I find Amy hard to relate to, and I'm still struggling to get a handle on Eleven independent of Ten.
I don't think it's the writing, though -- I think it's me. And some of the individual episodes were absolutely delightful. I think one of the things I love most about this vid of yours is that the joy really shines through; even if this wasn't my favorite season of Who, your vid makes me relive all the sparkly fun parts.
That's interesting. I like Amy, but the fact that I like her surprises me a bit because there are things about her character that "on paper" that I would think that I wouldn't like (like the way she treats Rory early in the season). But I think that what got under my defences was the fact that we were first introduced to the child version who I found to be utterly charming. So I think that when adult Amy annoyed me, I kinda reminded myself that she was still that child only somewhat damaged by her "imaginary" friend abandoning her for 12 years when he said he'd be back in 5 mins
( ... )

Thanks for the rec!
Okay, this pingback_bot thing is new. If I reply here does it go back to your LJ? I suppose I'll have to wander over and find out (and if not, thank you there - and check out some more of your recs!)
