You sound like you could use some Bill White essays to start your day.

Also, if you can find a subscription to Pravda, go for it.

ha.

maybe i should have prefaced my requests with a note that it'd help if the authors were, well, sane.

Be more specific in your frustration with bias and I might be able to help you. And secondly, what do you want out of it?

I'd look into Andrew Sullivan's writings. I like him. He's a writer for Time and the London Times. British, Gay, small government conservative, and intense critic of the current administration. You might like it.

something informative, well-written, and absent an overt political bias.
i just want the news, not an editorial about, well, anything.

so far, i've got reuters.

In terms of objective reporting, the WSJ does a great job, albeit what they are reporting on is terribly limited. Also by no means am I including the editorial page in this assessment.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a bias-free newspaper... I did a resarch paper on this, and most newspapers simply reprint NYTimes stuff a day later unless it's local news.
Stick to wire services, usually they're the least biased. Anything foreign is generally intentionally biased, especially British stuff.

not expecting to find anything in this world that's free of bias.
and yes, i'm unfortunately aware of the recycling that goes on.

r/ap are fine, i guess.
i'd just like to be able to take them with me on the bus.

That is the inevitable problem with the wire services... I feel like there must be some sort of device to dl them to... but that might not be worth the hassle.
My thought on newspapers, is that as long as I'm not reading USA Today (which is not worth the paper it's printed on) I'm a happy camper. Plus, the Star Trib has a cool layout...

you should try filling a sketchbook in a week.

assignment #1 for my materials and techniques class.

7 days, 100 pages, go.

if that doesn't speed you up I don't know what will =p
