Alphabet dinner again last night - Joanie's Pizzeria in Soulard. The pizza was good but not spectacular - not as good as Racanelli's, in my opinion. The 'Special Meat Pie' (AKA Heart Attack on a platter) was good, and the toasted ravioli makes for a good appetizer. The menu is pretty big and the have sandwiches and pasta as well, so you certainly aren't limited to in you choices. Pretty weak beer selection, the highlights of which are probably Schlafly Hefeweisen and Newcastle Brown Ale. The service was friendly and efficient, and theprices are not outrageous - expect to spend about $15 if you get a personal pizza or an entree. The major downside is the distance - if you don't have a car, you can't get there. I probably wouldn't bother anyway. Racanelli's is better and closer. Overall, 7/10. Not too bad, but nothing special.
