I really liked the incorporation of the Russian mythos into this piece. It gives it real flavor. I also really liked the Syd/Jack, Nadia/Irina parallel; I think it's dead on. I actually sort of said the same thing in my piece. JINX!

I think Nadia is such an overlooked character, in general. I mean, I know the show is all about Syd but Nadia has such story potential too, and she's so often relegated to simply being Syd's second. I love that this story fleshes her out into a more independent entity who doesn't always slavishly love big sis. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you :) I was hoping for that, since Mags requested they be in Russia I really wanted to give it that feeling.

I totally agree with you about Nadia. At first I was like "oh, come on!" but she really grew on me and now she's one of my favorites. But they seem to give her only two roles - either the little sis who idolizes Syd or the one who points out Syd's hypocracy. I was really excited to get a chance to draw her out :)

"or even Nadia Derevkova" you had me at this, seriously, I was just gone! I desperately wanted Irina and Nadia to spend time w/ each other and this is great fic. I can so see Irina striding around like a tsarina, see Nadia delving into all the history of her heritage. "You can love him. That is something fate will not change." is so perfect for Irina and Jack, and it made my breath catch and is just a fantabulous line!
