Wow, omg, amazing...just, wow.

Ok, I'll try to leave coherent feedback now. This was WONDERFUL. When I requested this for the challenge, I was really hoping that someone would explore the complexity of Nadia's character and the many facets of her relationship with Irina, and you've done just that.

I love the idea of Nadia as an allegorical figure, that theme really resonated with me, because that certainly is part of her characterization on the show, but I think you've taken it to the next level, where she herself feels like an icon and cannot deal with not feeling like a real person. I especially liked this line: "She feels a pang in her heart of being robbed of yet another part of her." This makes her conflict over Eric that much more heart wrenching, because she sees the examples set by Sydney and Vaughn and Jack and Irina. Loved the advice Irina gave her, also.

I feel like you really GET this relationship, and I love that Irina has helped Nadia to regain part of herself from Rambaldi, even if she feels confined by destiny. Also loved the Nadia/Irina and Jack/Sydney parallels, and I think that's absolutely right.

Nadia's evolving self-concept and place in the world as a Derevko and as Sydney's sister is a fascinating topic, and one I hope that they will explore on the show at some point. I think that the only way she can ever have a real understanding of herself is with Irina's help, as you've shown here. Your story so eloquently captured the Nadia that I know and her struggle with herself and her family.

Sorry if this was incoherent and fangirly (except that I am totally your fangirl now) but I just loved it so much and was squeeing throughout. So thank you so much!!

I'm so glad you like it! I was so afraid it wasn't what you wanted, but you love it, yay!! Really, the best part is knowing that you're happy :)

Nadia as an allegorical figure kind of happened by accident, but it works very well in this setting. This piece really evolved from two things: I was thinking that if I were Nadia after BTF, I'd be upset with fate and Irina's comment in BTF about her countrymen liking to control their own destiny. But above all, Nadia is real, and she doesn't like it when she's 'used' - ie, when she was The Passenger in S3. J/I and S/V were examples that were too good to pass up, especially comparing them to N/W. Nadia definately needs Irina too, because she is a Derevko, and who better to show her what that means than Irina? Irina's another one of my favorite characters, and I love those moments when she shows her innerself.

I'm really fascinated by the relationships among the characters as well as Nadia's situation. I'm hoping that Nadia will get more screentime and a chance to explore her new self this coming season. I'd really love to see some Nadia/Irina interaction, too.

Your story so eloquently captured the Nadia that I know and her struggle with herself and her family.
Aww, thanks :) I'm so glad you liked this piece - so much that you're my fangirl (that makes me squee, heh!) You're very welcome, I really enjoyed writing it!
