Today I celebrate America by doing the most American thing I can think of: I'm going bowling. And there will be greasy fried pickles and mushrooms, and fried cheese, and fried lard, and small 44 oz. sodas, also fried.
I think I am going anyway. That is the plan so far. Ashley has to work today, so it is either bowl with T.J. and Alana or sit around by myself. They are also going to Books-A-Million, so I will walk around and look at things I want but can't afford. I might see how much Bukowski I can read before it is time to leave. I've been really wanting to read Ham on Rye and What Matters Most Is How Well You Walk through the Fire. (I bought a copy of Lord Jim yesterday for $1. I am looking forward to getting into that. I might start it on the ride to Alexandria.)
Ashley just stopped by and surprised me. She and the kids are on their way to see Transformers. That was the first time I have met the kids, and they seemed awesome. The dogs agreed and knocked them down.
Side note: Did you know that Zach de la Rocha and Trent Reznor recorded an album together?
I'm off to bowl.
