I am hungry, but I am trying not to eat anything that is horrible for me. Since moving to Natchitoches in January of 2005, I have gone from weighing 125 lbs. to about 175. I'm trying to give up my reliance on fast food and soft drinks. I am sure that is where most of the weight has come from. After a week of watching what I eat, I almost cried over a chicken strip dinner from Sonic. It was so greasy and gross. I felt like I had wasted a week.
Each morning, I wake at eight o'clock to go to a class that I don't even really need. I am taking English 2050, Major British Writers, even though I took British literature before moving to Natchitoches. The numbers didn't quite match up, but I am pretty sure I could talk my way into making it work. Unfortunately, because of a bad spring semester and because I only took six hours worth of classes while in Morgan City, I now have to take these classes I don't need in order to have enough hours to qualify for financial aid. In three weeks, I will begin English 1020 which, not only have I tested out of with a CLEP test, NSU guidelines stipulate that my ACT score exempts me from the class. Again, I have to have the hours. It will pay off eventually, I think.
My life is so incredibly dull right now. I basically wait for the days to pass, so I can get a bit closer to graduation. We hate living here and can't wait to leave. I told my mom yesterday that I am beginning to look into grad schools. I told her I might be moving to Oregon, which did not go over well. It's not likely that I will go to OU, but I am definitely applying there. It is my second choice, after UT. I've also been looking into some schools in British Columbia. I opted not to tell mom about those.
