[It's always morning when they send Derek back. That just seems to be the way of it.
So when he wakes up, the part of him that manages to always hold onto the 'here and now' regardless of what the Malnosso do to him, is aware that somehow, this is normal. And that he should know this beach. And that he's not as lost as he feels.
...It is pretty chilly, though.
It doesn't take him long to find his journal, either, and he'll pick it up, poking at the pages and turning the book in every direction while he tries to figure it out and the book records him messing with it. His final conclusion is simple.]
Totally cool.
[Still, he's not ready to do much more with the weird book just yet, so he'll tuck it under one arm and stand up, looking up and down the beach.
If he's supposed to be here, where is everyone else? There's always people, right? Somewhere.
Confused, still a little chilly, and somewhat lost, he picks a direction and starts walking, occasionally wading through the waves as he goes, until his toes get too chilly.
He may or may not find the tunnels, and he may or may not figure out how to use the teleporter, but it remains, Luceti, that there's a young boy wandering around in new feather pants and gaping at everything he sees. Feel free to introduce yourself.]
