Status Update Get?

So what have I been up to? Hard at work on a commission for the upcoming Shimmy-A-Thon (local bellydance shindig), so I probably won't be making anything new for D*Con this year. Next year, man, I'm starting further in advance on this stuff. I always underestimate just how long hand beading an entire costume will take! O.O I'm hoping that I can finish it this week, though. Who knows. Maybe if I crank, I can even get something small out for myself. XD

That said, I have gotten a little bit of me time in recently. Joel and I are doing well, if absolutely loathing his schedule. ;-; We spend as much time together as we can, and we get by. I've picked up knitting. I almost lost it all in one fell swoop, but Whitney was able to salvage things for me. It's not perfect anymore, but hey, it's my first attempt!

The only other thing worth noting, I think, besides the inevitable death of my pet snail Bruchan and the awesome fact that my friend and neighbor ragresen has adopted an awesome Cocker Spaniel... is the fact that I've preordered Disney's Blu Ray release of Snow White. Yes, preordering the movie is that important? Why? Because I preordered (and prepaid, ouch) for a limited edition (only 5,000 to be made, ever) Snow White doll. She is beautiful, ball jointed, and all mine!

A link for your convenience and awe.

Yea... I'm not in the least bit ashamed of this purchase. Disney fan and doll collector, and you expect me to pass this up? Not bloody likely.

For those interested, she is the first in a series of such rare and beautiful dolls. Next will be the princess from the upcoming Princess and the Frog movie. Following her should be Belle. I don't know where they are going after that, but you can bet it will be goodness. They will likely be released with movie release/rereleases, so expect the main princesses and perhaps some of the not-quite-princesses? I believe the woman at the store said they are expecting a doll release every six months.

dolls, disney
