So I’m sure everyone is wondering what the heck is going on with Amie. She never posts anymore! Well, yea, I don’t have much of an excuse. I’m sorry. Bouts of super busy mixed with bouts of depression and a complete lack of inspiration of what to write. Couple that with me being upset that my well of extra fundage (pay to post stuff) has completely dried up, leaving me with an angry resentment towards my journal because it is no longer making me money, and you get the absences I’ve had lately. I’m sorry, and though I know I’ll get comments saying I don’t have to post if I don’t want to, it’s not right to you, my friends, that I do this. Needless to say, I’ve basically given up on paid posting. So unless someone says “hey, post about X for $100 dollars” I likely won’t be doing it. You don’t have to ignore my journal or worry about that anymore.
What have we been up to? Well, insanity. I don’t know how much I’ve posted lately, and I’m not about to go back and check to see how far back I’ve updated you guys. Christmas was quiet, spent at home, with a dinner on Christmas day with myself, Joel, and his mother. She made roast beef and rolls. I made black beans, white rice, yucca, and a broccoli & cheese casserole. I totally surprised her with the feast, as she wasn’t expecting nearly as much. I think I only told her about the beans/rice and yucca. It was nice, though, definitely. Yucca turned out well, black beans turned out great, and the casserole wasn’t too bad either.
If any locals or not-so-locals want to spend a day at Six Flags with us, let us know, and maybe we can work something out. Mom got us season passes, so depending on schedules, we might be able to make a few trips out with friends. <3
New Years was, likewise, very quiet for us. We didn’t see friends. We didn’t see family. We didn’t do anything, really. I think I played more video games in the last month or so than I have in the last year. >.> That’s what I did with a huge chunk of my time off, oh, and work on crafts. Too bad the supplies really didn’t show in time for me to do terribly much with them for Christmas (oh yea, I was cooking a lot, too, for Christmas), and New Years is just the one day. I would kill for some more time off. >.> And a better craft work station.
Anyway. We went out to dinner on the second for our anniversary, since the silly restraunt was closed on the first. ::shakes a fist at them:: Work is work, and life is crazy. Umm…
Joel got a job! He started Monday at JoAnn’s, working in the floral department. So far it seems he’s going to be fine on hours, and next week he’s scheduled for 30 something, so I’m pretty sure he’s full time. He’s enjoying it thusfar, and is amused by the fact that he already has an “underling” (read, a newer hire in the same department who will just stare into space unless someone tells him to go do something). I’m really glad he’s enjoying himself there. He likes the staff and the atmosphere. He also says they’re likely to train him into multiple departments, which he loves, as he wants to learn more. Oh, and discounts are always nice. ::grins:: He even gets to take their crafting classes free, so long as he pays for his own supplies. How awesome is that? Sooner or later he’ll know more crafting stuff than I do! ::flails::
So yea, that’s all I have for now. I don’t know what else to say, really. ::clings to everyone lovingly:: I miss you guys!
