Darn Me Being A Jewelry Addict!
So Gran's birthday was back in late August, and all I sent her was a card. She had a major spinal surgery. And now I'm going to be visiting for Thanksgiving. Christmas is right around the corner. I wanted to find something for her. The problem is, she doesn't like much. She has no hobbies. No pass times. Nothing. I figured hey, she likes jewelry. Sure, she doesn't have much, and she never changes her jewelry ever. Maybe I could get her a pretty pair of studs that she'll actually like, so she could switch them out between the basic diamonds every now and again. Right?
Oh, it's so hard!
She doesn't like danglies. She doesn't like hoops. She only wants yellow gold or platinum. She just wants studs. I didn't know where to begin at first! That was, until I found these earrings. And then? I still didn't know where to begin!
I think I'm finding more for myself than I am for Gran. Danglies, hoops, and all kinds of other things are just calling to me. I'm not sure if I can resist. I mean, they have just about any gemstone I can think of (at least the precious and major semiprecious), and tons of different cuts and settings. Everything from silver to platinum. The only daunting bit is the price tag. Because apparently I have really expensive tastes.
I found a few things Gran might actually wear. Cameo studs, black diamond studs, and things like that. Most of them run a few hundred apiece! I think Gran doesn't need that much, especially since I don't know if she'll wear them.
Really, though, I think I want the 14kt. White Gold, Natural Emerald Earrings all to myself, though. Mmmm, wow. Too bad they've got a price tag of over $300! ;-;
