Sexy Voices and Silly Songs

Maybe it's just me, but I am in love with Tim Curry's voice. I don't quite understand what it is about his voice and how he says things, but he has such a sensual tone! You can always tell when he's smiling or grinning, too. It's so obvious just by his tone of voice. Hmm, I suppose I should stop randomly fangirling now, yes?

Of course, I'm fangirling because I've been listening to the SpamALot soundtrack a lot lately. I love this soundtrack, and it's lots of fun to sing to. Joel and I are of differing opinions on something, though, and I want to see what you guys have to say about it.

Some of you might be familiar with the song You Won't Succeed On Broadway. Well, some of the lyrics have me confused, as I feel they are phrased poorly. What say you, the audience?

They don't care if it's wity
Or everything looks pretty
They'll simply say it's shitty, and refuse
Nobody will go sir
If it's not kosher, then no show sir
Even goyim won't be dim enough to choose
Put on shows that make men stare
With lots of girls in underwear
You may even have the finest of reviews
(You're doing great!)
But the audiences won't care sir
As long as you don't dare sir
To open up on Broadway
If you don't have any Jews

Now, my mind would say that they phrased that poorly. The song is all about telling Arthur that he will need Jews to succeed on Broadway. So... the phrasing is off, yes? Joel almost convinced me to see his side of it, but hearing it again this morning made me change my mind again. It's wrong... could someone tell me whether it's just me or not?
