Fixed Up Pushbike!

Dec 04, 2007 16:10

After months of procrastination, I've finally gotten my bicycle fixed up. The seat, a different brand, isn't as comfortable as the original Bontrager model that I got along with my bike but unfortunately the bike shop here stock very limited merchandise and I don't know the model number of the seat I had. One of the really stupid things about buying a pricier bike is that it forces you to go back to specific distributors and dealers. Oh, how I hate thieves who will steal petty things like my bike seat and post even though they can't steal away my bike because it was doubly padlocked. I've just blown nearly $300 at the bike shop. The guy who runs the bike shop kept referring to my bike as a racing bike when it's patently not one. It's only a lower to mid range hybrid. Real racing bikes cost several thousand dollars, on par with a low end car here. I think he was hoping I'd spend more money at the shop. I sure hope it pays off since I'm going biking with a potential client and his group of friends. This potential client has a custom made bicycle with a partial carbon fibre frame and mountain bike tyres, which all in all, apparently set him back about $8,000.
