You might have noticed this already, but Parker talks back to the narration. There is a reasoning for this, I'm not just crazy! Heh.
In the musical, during my favorite song (Comfort and Joy, heh,) Dr. Parker basically goes insane with jealousy because his wife Meredith loves the Bat Boy more than she loves Parker. *pets* Poor thing. He hears voices that encourage him to kill the Bat Boy, which he resists. I decided that means that he is truly insane, and so the narration is just another voice in his head. He won't necessarily respond to everything it says- probably just the one-liner observations (like 'Dr. Parker is drunk').
Don't ask me why I felt like I had to clarify that, but there you go. I'm insane. *grin*
