I'm having one of those very disconnected days, totally devoid of structure in which I originally convince myself I'm going to Get A Lot Done on a school project, but instead accumulate about 3-5 total hours of work while otherwise staring at my metaphorical bellybutton.
I've read A LOT online today, mostly my usual (Boston Globe, blogs, everyone's facebook status 10 times) but also had the added bonus (?) of a post-birthday-sorry-it-snowed night out with my brother to plan for.
My current top plans are: ice-skating at Steriti Rink in the North End, which has the proximity of Mike's Pastry to recommend it. Or bowling at Sacco's, with the proximity of Gargoyle's great drinks, Redbone's great BBQ, and kickass cupcakes to recommend it. Or the Boston Census, a bunch of local short films at the Brattle, with the proximity of hot chocolate from Burdick's to recommend it. Or the ICA's showing of animated shorts from the Oscar list. Or staying up on the Northshore for ...? Here I am stuck. No good listings online, as far as I can tell. Milk is still showing at Hollywood Hits. Most of my favorite old haunts are seriously daytime destinations. I could get pie at Agawam diner.
And now to the gym, afterwhich maybe I'll get a burst of energy for this big, soul-sucking paper.
