I lived in Denton for five and a half years and loved the city. One of the main reasons I decided to go to
UNT in 1999 was because of the music scene and all the great venues for up and coming bands:
Rubber Gloves, Brickhaus ( Now
Banter), Andy’s,
Dan’s Silverleaf, Rick’s Place (now long gone), and
Cool Beans. Denton has been home to bands that have gone on to do great things.
I’ve been in this online community,
DentonTX, for more than five years and I thank every one of you that have provided valuable information over the years: local news, university announcements, apartments to avoid, band appearances, and random garage sales. I have added to the community over the years and feel it’s time again. If you like music, have a band, or a solo musician,
.
Speaking of community, I don’t make too many recommendations on here, but if you are in a band, a solo artist, or enjoy original and fresh music, you should create a social account on this new
indie artist’s resource website/social community,
www.MadeLoud.com. If you have recorded songs, you can upload all of them and sell to your fans for free at this time. It’s similar to CDBaby, only you keep a lot more from your sales.
