Erin emailed me and reminded me about Talk Like a Pirate Day. It's an unofficial national holiday. I first heard about it like 2 or 3 years ago. They talk about it on the radio in Southern Illinois and Los Angeles and all over the internet. I didn't remember what day it was, but Erin sent me this link:
http://www.talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html So yes, show some spirit and talk like a pirate on Monday, September 19th.
I know some of you are thinking, "WTF over! Why about an international Ninja Day!" Well, my answer to you on that is that, first of all, it can't have a "TALK like a Ninja Day" because they are silent and undetectable. A general Ninja Day wouldn't work either because there would either A) there would be mass death and destruction or B) the ninja nation would become extinct. Let me explain why.
Everyone knows (or should know) the 3 vital facts about ninjas. (Reference
http://www.realultimatepower.net)
"Facts:
1. Ninjas are mammals.
2. Ninjas fight ALL the time.
3. The purpose of the ninja is to flip out and kill people."
So yeah, the ninja's would take any Ninja-related holiday as a signal to obey their instincts. However, the Inverse Ninja Power Law states that the power of a ninja is inversely proportional to the number of ninja's sent out. So if you send out one Ninja, he could destroy armies single-handedly.. but if you send out an army of ninja's they won't be able to assassinate even a single person. (Reference Kill Bill, Ninja Turtles, etc..) So if the entire nation of ninjas came out to do battle with the world, it could lead to their ultimate destruction. NOT GOOD. Ninja's are a very vital part of our ecosystem. If you remove one species, the entire house of cards that is nature could collapse! (Reference Seaquest, The Phantom Menace, any other movie featuring tree-hugging.)
So please, let's leave the Pirate/Ninja blood-feud remain a secret war for now.
On another note, remember that
Serenity come out on September 30th. GO SEE IT. You won't be disappointed. See it right away. A good opening week will ensure good admission for the entire run and will boost DVD sales. It only needs to gross $80-million to be given sequel consideration, which could possibily lead to a rebirth of the short lives series (Firefly) that it was based on. Universal is relying heavily on Browncoats (Firefly loyalists/Internet Enthuseists) to promote the movie. Even if it weren't poised to be a blockbuster it'd be an instant cult classic.
You won't be disappointed if you see it. See it for me, since I can't. What a time to be deployed, yo.
Alright, I'm done with my shameless promotions for today.
