So, okay, who's done it? Who wants to give me some advice, because now I've lost a bit of weight, and you know, I'm no longer a blimp that appears on radar screens, I'm putting myself out there.

Ahem. Sorry. As I was saying, I'm dipping my toe in, but...I have no idea what I'm doing. I mean, how long do you email for? Is it better to meet sooner rather than later? Do you email first? Do you pick guys you actually like, or do you pick guys you think will like you? I mean, I'm a settler, I know this about me - I settle for guys I think will be inclined to like me, rather than the kind of guys I really like, because I think they're out of my league. That's bad, right?
But then, the guys who might be inclined to like me, I probably have more in common with. Is that better? Will I find that my 'type' isn't really my type once I get to know them? 'Cause, okay, James Bond, who wouldn't want a James Bond? But I bet he's no fun when you get past all the excitement and the adventure and the guns and tuxedos. I bet James Bond is a tool. I bet he leaves his underwear all over the floor and he never washes up.
And the first date, oh God, the first date. So awkward. I hate it. What do you do, what do you say, what do you wear? What do you do if it's awful? What do you if the guy contacts you but you think he's dull as ditchwater but don't want to hurt his feelings?
