Lucifer? Lucifer? Oh, that is awesome is so many ways. I mean, not awesome for Dean and Sam and, you know, the world, but awesome to watch. Lucifer! The frickin' Morning Star himself! The stakes just seriously got ramped up here, huh? So. Cool.

You know, the best Lucifer I saw onscreen was Viggo Mortensen in The Prophecy. Pretty wretched movie but fun in a cult kind of way, you know? Viggo's only in the last ten minutes, but he turns up, threatens a few people, snogs Christopher Walken's Gabriel, then rips out his heart and eats it, threatens a few more people and slinks away, all whilst actually saving the day. He is awesome.

Actually, speaking of The Prophecy, there's a line in that movie that has always coloured the way I think about angels, and which really plays into Castiel's line in this week's episode about how Dean should actually read the Bible if he wants to know about angels. I think it's Thomas, the main character, and he says: "Did you ever notice how in the Bible, whenever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?

Well, if he was as hot as Castiel, maybe. I continue to wish that Castiel would jump Dean's bones. Just for shits and giggles. Because Dean/Castiel...? It's like looking into the sun.

In conclusion: Lucifer!
