I'm going to miss the Olympics...
I'm really sorry they're over. I've really enjoyed watching it over the past two weeks - waking up in the morning and immediately checking the BBC live feed, marvelling over how well Team GB are doing, following the progress at work (sssh!). I think the Chinese put on a fabulous Olympics, one they can justifiably be proud of. I only hope 2012 will be a suitable follow-up performance.
And Team GB had an astonishing Olympics! Before the Games no-one would have dreamed we'd do as well as we did, and to come fourth in the table, behind such powerhouse nations like the US, China and Russia, is amazing. Nineteen gold medals - our best haul for a hundred years! And who wants to take bets on Chris Hoy being a knight before too long? I love that in recent interviews both he and Rebecca Adlington said that their ambition after the Games was to be on Top Gear! Can't blame them.
So it's all over for another four years. *sighs* Roll on 2012.
