♥ Day Twenty-Eight: Favorite female writer (television, books, movies, etc.)
I actually found this one surprisingly tough. I can think of a number of my favourite books, for example, written by women, but I wouldn't say that makes them my favourite female writers. It's a rare author I can think of where I like all of their works; it's usually just a certain one. And as for television writers, I have to confess I rarely pay attention to which particular scriptwriter wrote which episodes.
That said, I do love Sarah Waters' books. Tipping the Velvet, Fingersmith, The Little Stranger, The Night Watch - I've loved them all. She's one of the few authors where I think I actually own all of her books. And I love that her books always feature lesbian characters but her books aren't just dismissed as 'gay novels'. She doesn't write 'gay fiction', she's writes well-regarded, bestselling mainstream novels that feature lesbian characters, and that's pretty rare.
