The holiday hiatus is coming as somewhat of a relief...

I am so behind in all my TV that this hiatus gives me a real chance to catch up!

It's actually quite interesting when I fall behind in my TV-watching to see which shows I prioritise, which shows I'm all up to date with and which I tend to leave. For example, I'm up to date with Elementary, Castle, Sleepy Hollow, The Mentalist and Criminal Minds, ( Read more... )

I'm finding that to be the case too. I had a friend who years ago teased that I didn't have "TV integrity". I'd fall absolutely, head over heels for a show and talk about it incessantly, and then a few months (or sometimes seasons) later, I'm off again but this time on another show.

I'd caught the first episode or two of "Criminal Minds" when it first aired, but it really didn't capture me until I was up visiting my best friend in Alaska for Thanksgiving (as I do every other year), and her husband and I existed off of marathons. And I'm not sure how this happened, but I'm fascinated with Reid/Hotch fanfiction. A coworker just bought the first three or four seasons and is going to loan them to me as she goes through them, but I have NO IDEA when I'm going to be able to make time for them.

I was growing a little cold about "Castle" until I watched (episode #112 season 6, episode 7) "Like Father, Like Daughter", which reminded me that it wasn't Beckett and Castle's will-they-or-won't-they that kept me watching. I fell in love with the show all over again.

I like "Elementary" but don't love it. I'm caught up on it, though.

I tried to watch "The Mentalist", but Cho's intensity and Rigsby/Van Pelt couldn't overcome my urge to smack Jane on his smug face.

"Revenge" never held any appeal for me. I watched the first episode but couldn't bring myself to care about anyone or the mystery, which frankly was a relief. It's one of those shows you have to watch every week or you'll miss something. That's a commitment I try not to make since I missed the third episode of "Lost" years ago.

"Person Of Interest" caught my attention, but it was on the same time as two other shows that I really liked, so it fell by the wayside. I'm okay with not having invested myself after recent events (that's all I'm going to say; no spoilers).

I watched the first few episodes of "NCIS:LA" when it began, but I had to sacrifice it for other shows. My interest revived with the addition of Deeks, but I'm catch as catch can with it.

I'm not in love with "White Collar", but I enjoy it, especially the Burke's marriage. I love that they make their relationship a priority and that they're willing to put in the work because they believe in each other and their relationship. It helps that the USA network re-airs each show multiple times a week so I can catch the them at various times.

I feel like I'm going through the motions with "Supernatural". I loved the show and have watched it from the beginning, but now it's more because of habit than an actual love of the show. Bobby was my rock, so...

I've cooled down on both "Glee" and "Hawaii 5-0" - both shows have become a bit of a disappointment to me, "5-0" more so than "Glee". I've been told that the newest "5-0" episode didn't have Catherine in it (and actually has Danny), so I'm looking forward to watching it. I've kept my love alive with writing and reading Steve/Danny fanfic.

"Almost Human" and "Sleepy Hollow" are the two shows that excite me the most right now. If I'm not working, I'll even catch the shows LIVE, which I rarely do due to time constraints.

I caught an episode of "Blue Bloods" after CBS teamed it up with "Hawaii 5-0", and I enjoyed it. Like NCIS:LA, I'll watch it if it's convenient.

I haven't watched an episode of "Dracula" yet. It's available On Demand, but I keep moving past it. I'm worried I'll love it, and my dance card is full.
