The holiday hiatus is coming as somewhat of a relief...
I am so behind in all my TV that this hiatus gives me a real chance to catch up!
It's actually quite interesting when I fall behind in my TV-watching to see which shows I prioritise, which shows I'm all up to date with and which I tend to leave. For example, I'm up to date with Elementary, Castle, Sleepy Hollow, The Mentalist and Criminal Minds, but I have three episodes of White Collar and Hawaii Five-0 to watch, two episodes of Revenge and Person of Interest, and an episode of Supernatural, NCIS: Los Angeles, Blue Bloods and Dracula.
What's interesting is that the shows I'm up to date with are the ones I've never been especially fannish about, and the ones I was once ridiculously emotionally invested in, like Supernatural or Hawaii Five-0 or Person of Interest, I'm now a bit 'meh' about. I guess that's part of the problem: when you fall hardcore for something I think it raises your expectations somewhat and you'll usually be disappointed, which leads to a certain amount of disillusionment and distance.
Anyway, hopefully I'll get all caught up in the next two weeks, and then the whole cycle will start up again! With added new complications from whatever new shows start in 2014!
