i'm only judging this on the 30 seconds of iTunes preview i get, but New Soul is a really annoying song.

Since you mention Feist in your column though, i feel like sharing this story. When i first saw that nano ad, i thought feist was really hot. The way she starts moving at the beginning of the ad is quite seductive. so one day when laura was listening to feist in the car i mentioned that i thought she was hot (even though, IMO, all of 'the reminder', except 1234, was a big snooze). She says "um, what are you basing that on?" "The ipod commercial-she looks dope". "well, you should take a better look at her face."

I did, and i had to agree with laura- not as hot as i'd thought.

fast forward to last week when the enormous janitor who comes to take out our garbage every day is talking to me in the kitchen as i do some dishes from lunch. "Do you represent that girl from that ipod ad? she fine" "um, no, we don't. but she's not as good looking as you think. have you ever seen a picture of her?" "No"

so when he came to my desk to get my garbage i pulled up a picture. he goes "oh shit. nah man, nah".
