Using LJ friends as blog fodder
I'd like to thank el__guapo and online_stalker for unwittingly serving as the lead anecdote for this week's edition of my Idolator column, "100 and Single." You guys are the best. No, you.
Okay, I didn't actually mention them by name, but: I needed a quick way into the story of how this completely random singer from Israel on a French indie label managed to score the highest Billboard chart debut in a year, thanks entirely to her appearance in that MacBook Air ad we've all seen 1,000 times in the last couple of weeks.
And I had a great anecdote, from cercaria's and techtraum's Superbowl party last Sunday. So I used it.
For the record, while the stalker_guapos didn't know who was singing the song in the ad, I come off as the douche for acting like I did know. So, overall, I'm the boob, I think.
