A sequel to Screams His hands began to tremble as he continued to apply pressure to the bullet wound his partner had sustained. He kept praying the ambulance would arrive in time as he heard the sirens in the distant coming closer with each passing second. Finally bright lights blinded him as the police and rescue personnel arrived, and he was shoved aside as the medical technicians worked on this partner.
He waited for Diana to give him a ride to the hospital. Neither of them spoke, the silence deafening. He was worried and began to realize what his partner meant to him. This was more than a partnership, it was friendship, no it went deeper - they were family. They fought and cared for each other like family. They would do anything for each other.
Now he was losing his new found family. He closed his eyes holding back the tears, trying to forget the events that just happened, but instead he kept seeing all the blood running beneath his partner like a small river. He closed his eyes tighter, but could only see his partner lying there pale and broken.
People stared at him as he paced the hospital hallways. He was covered in blood, but refused to leave. He finally collapsed as exhaustion overtook him and he sat down in one of the uncomfortable plastic chairs. Time seemed to stand still, every minute lasting an eternity.
Suddenly El was running down the hall, stopping right in front of him. She looked down at him and gasped when she saw all the blood on his clothing. Her face paled and then she began to cry. It was then he let everything go and cried as well.
