[2007.04.25] Arashi’s All Night Nippon - Part II

May 02, 2016 00:01

Continued from Part I. Same warning: VERY long.

Ohno: Arashi’s All Night Nippon. I’m Ohno Satoshi who’s leaving everything in Sho-chan’s hands tonight. I’ve been watching “NEWS ZERO”!
Sakurai: Thank you!
Ohno: (laugh)
Sakurai: So Ohno-san, please read the mail.
Ohno: Alright~!

(This person wanted to be a stand up comedian since middle-school, but people around are all against it. Regardless of those obstacles, this person will go for training under a teacher after graduating from high-school)

Ohno: That’s so cool.
Sakurai: So cool.
Ohno: Well people do object, I suppose.
Sakurai: Yes yes. It’s like that.
Ohno: And then, most people object. Just like this.
Sakurai: It’s usually like that.
Ohno: And then, when this guy succeeds, those people who objected, they’d be like, um…
Sakurai: “Give me your autograph” like that.
Ohno: Yes yes yes (laugh)
Sakurai: “He’s my relative” kinda thing.
Ohno: “I knew from the start you’re meant for this”. They’d say totally opposite things.
Sakurai: “I said those things to make you work hard”. Yeah that happens a lot.
Ohno: It does huh.
Sakurai: I hope this person will work hard without thinking too much about what other people say.
Ohno: Yes indeed.
Sakurai: It’s amazing, having a dream at such a young age, it’s amazing. Creating a comedic duo during middle-school, and working hard till now.
Ohno: He’d succeed.
Sakurai: Oh yes he might. If he becomes famous, I hope they’d playback what we said.
Ohno: Ah, right. Like we predicted it, like we’re the parents of his career.
Sakurai: (burst out laughing)
Ohno: (laugh) Parents of his career!
Sakurai: (laugh) Excuse us. Next mail.

(This person’s radio name is “Sato-oshi” which means “I’m all out for Sato(shi)”. She dreams to have nice-smelling fart and wonders what to do to achieve this dream. “Ohno-kun please teach me”)

Ohno: (laugh) What a wonderful dream.
Sakurai: This is a radio show the 5 of us are doing together, but “Ohno-san”. You’re being called out.
Ohno: But you know, fart…
Sakurai: Oh man you’re really going to talk about that (laugh)
Ohno: There are times when it smells really bad right?
Sakurai: Yes. Of course.
Ohno: It’s good cause it’s smelly.
Sakurai: Which means, if it’s not smelly, it’s not fart.
Ohno: This person wants her fart to smell nice right? Even if she manages to do it, it’s still fart. Wouldn’t it be kinda gross if you think about it?
Sakurai: I see. Which means, your dream is wrong.
Ohno: But, if her fart smells nice she’d become a celebrity.
Sakurai: You’re right. “That person’s fart smells like rose”.
Ohno: “Unbelievable. Fruity~”
Sakurai: (laugh)
Ohno: Well, but you know…
Sakurai: This person is in first year of middle-school.
Ohno: First year of middle-school!?
Sakurai: It’s the period when your dreams run wild (laugh) And she even combined her dreams with fart.
Ohno: Well if she continued to strive for it she might even get flowers to bloom when she does it.
Sakurai: And if flowers really did bloom, we… (laugh)
Ohno: …would like to go and see for ourselves (laugh)
Both: (laugh)
Sakurai: Alright, after this we’ll share Arashi’s dreams.
Ohno: Yes.
Sakurai: And tonight! Everyone listening to All Night Nippon now, we have a special announcement.
Ohno: Ooh.
Sakurai: We’ll be holding a secret live concert this autumn.
Ohnn: Yo!
Sakurai: Audience will be picked from people who send in the sticker on C1000’s House Wellness Foods, which we’re appearing on their commercials. Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka, 3 places! Do visit C1000’s homepage for details.
Ohno: Ooh.
Sakurai: We did it too last year huh?
Ohno: Yes.
Sakurai: It was fun.
Ohno: Very amusing.
Sakurai: Yeap.
Ohno: And this year, they’ve added Fukuoka.
Sakurai: Yes so we’re performing at 3 places.
Ohno: Ooh wonderful~
Sakurai: This autumn, please come and support us!
Ohno: Please do~
Sakurai: Now we’d like to play the C1000 commercial song. Satoshi-kun, please introduce the song!
Satoshi: Alright! “Di-Li-Li” by Arashi~

Sakurai: But you’re appearing in our concert right? Concert. In Tokyo Dome. How is it, your feeling now, Ohno-san!
Ohno: Ah~ How nice would it be if there were two Ohno Satoshis, right?
Sakurai: (ignores him) Your dream, and what you’re doing to achieve it. Well let’s share everyone’s dream, shall we?
Ohno: Yo!
Sakurai: (laugh) Arashi members have talked a bit about their personal dreams. But we have a problem here. Matsumoto-kun comment which we played just now, actually that was meant to be played now. So now, I’ll just play the “Kiiroi Namida” comment here.
Ohno: I see.
Sakurai: It’s been 6 years okay? This is totally the director’s fault.
Ohno: Stop it!
Sakurai: (laugh) Alright. This is Matsumoto-kun’s comment on “Kiiroi Namida”. Let’s hear it. Come on!

Matsumoto: I’m Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun. I play Katsumada Yuuji in the movie “Kiiroi Namida”. Here’s my question. Actually when Yuuji appears in “Kiiroi Namida”, because my hairstyle for my stage play (note: Byakuya no Valkyrie) didn’t fit the movie’s setting, I wore a wig while acting out my character. Who was the person who cut my wig?

Ohno: Eh?
Sakurai: The person who’d cut wigs, isn’t it the makeup artist?
Ohno: I suppose not?
Sakurai: Maybe not. A member?
Ohno: I didn’t do it.
Sakurai: Me neither.
Ohno: I didn’t do it…
Sakurai: I didn’t do it either…
Ohno: (laugh) Who was it? Makeup artist?
Sakurai: Let’s sort out our options. The people who might possibly do it are, members, makeup artist, manager.
Ohno: The director.
Sakurai: Director. Right.
Ohno: Um. Extras.
Sakurai: To have extras cut your wig… isn’t that too random?
Ohno: (laugh) Yeah I know. It’s not possible. Eh~? Who could it be?
Sakurai: Ah! He said it during the press conference didn’t he? That guy.
Ohno: He said it?
Sakurai: That “the director cut it for me”.
Ohno: Really?
Sakurai: But, I think that’s quite natural too right? The director wants to bring out the character he had in his mind.
Ohno: Ah you’re right. You can’t just simply cut and spoil it.
Sakurai: Yeah. It’s just that, does the director know how to cut wigs?
Ohno: Hm yeah.
Sakurai: I think it might be the makeup artist.
Ohno: I think… it might actually be… Kashii-chan.
Sakurai: We’re divided~
Ohno: (laugh)
Sakurai: We’re really divided (laugh) Let’s hear the answer.

Matsumoto: The answer is, director Inudo Isshin. At first I was wearing it with the make up artist, “what shall we make of this?”, then “let’s call the director”, and the director came, without much discussion, he just mumbled “well then~” and brought out the scissors and started cutting like sho-sho-sho.

Sakurai: (laugh) It seems like he would (laugh)

Matsumoto: He was quite clumsy. Of course I think it’s because Inudo-san has never cut hair before. It turned out to be super amateur. The the makeup artist had to everything he could to save the wig of Katsumada-kun, so here’s something behind the scenes. That’s all, I’m Arashi’s Matsumoto Jun.

Sakurai: At first, when Matsujun came on the set he was laughing so hard.
Ohno: Yeah he laughed.
Sakurai: As Matsujun said just now, he was performing in a stage play, so he came in a bit later than all of us right?
Ohno: Yes yes yes.
Sakurai: When he finally came, he had to wear that wig, and they painted his skin dark.
Ohno: (laugh)
Sakurai: “You can do it. You can definitely do it!” (imitating the character). You, what are you even talking about? (laugh)
Ohno: (laugh) No, you’re the problem here (laugh)
Sakurai: (laugh) It was the best laugh I had in a long time.
Ohno: This character is so different from what he’s been doing all these while.
Sakurai: Right? To think that he acted as Domyouji, then he’s now this guy who speaks with a weird accent.
Ohno: It’s so wonderful.
Sakurai: Wonderful indeed.
Ohno: I think it’s the toughest for him. The time it takes for his make up. His wig, and having his face painted dark, his body too.
Sakurai: Yes he did that.
Ohno: It’s amazing.
Sakurai: This “dream” segment, Matsumoto-kun said just now, 10 years ago he wanted to “have a concert overseas”. And it was fulfilled 10 years after. This is so dramatic. So there was such a thing.
Ohno: So he has been thinking about such things already huh? I didn’t even know before this.
Sakurai: Makes you think “tell us!” right? “Just tell us!” right?
Ohno: Just share your dreams with us already. 10 years ago. Then again we were still juniors.
Sakurai: Yeah he didn’t know that he’d be part of a group at that time. He was just hoping to perform overseas.
Ohno: That’s really amazing.
Sakurai: Amazing. Like he predicted it.
Ohno: Wonderful.
Sakurai: Wonderful.
Ohno: Exactly 10 years after.
Sakurai: And another thing. While saying “please let me do this Nippon broadcasting” yet he said “I’ll reject the offer when it comes”.
Ohno: Yeah. You… you think you’re so great?
Sakurai: (burst out laughing)
Ohno: (laugh)
Sakurai: A word from leader which we’re all thankful for. Thank you very much.
