Shit like this just pisses me off:
http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/10/25/poll.bush/index.html So 55 percent of Americans would vote for a generic Democrat over Bush. Fat fucking lot of good that does now. Where were you last year? It's not as if the Iraqi misadventure started going bad last week! It's not as if the Bush team suddenly adopted Criminal Incompetence as a second-term governing strategy. As far back as the summer of 2001 and Cheney's Energy Task Force, they were showing a penchant for extralegal activities and extra-Constitutional secrecy.
Look, I'm a Democrat and will judge any Republican president harshly, but this Administration's flaws transcend party politics. They were forcing people to sign loyalty oaths to get into campaign rallies, at the same time John Kerry was visiting with Vietnam veterans groups that were explicitly pro-War and anti-Kerry.
I have friends who said they wanted to vote for Jed Bartlett. I got news for you, people. While you were watching West Wing and romanticizing a fictional character, you missed your fucking chance. (For those of you who dislike John Kerry, Howard Dean's life story mimics Bartlett's even more closely.) Maybe you could spend an hour less watching West Wing reruns and an hour more really thinking about how you spend your vote.
Before it's taken away.
