So apparently the Iraq War is over. Well, it's probably not over for the Iraqis, and if I thought more US troops would change that, I'd probably support us staying longer. But it wouldn't, so I'm not. I'm happy that the President is keeping his promise and that the last troops are on the way home as I write this and in the next week or so. I'm happy that there are 9,000 less homeless veterans this year than there were a few years ago.
Now how about repealing the 2002 Iraq AUMF and getting us the hell out of Afghanistan while you're at it? Permanent war is an exhausting enough state for us civilians. I can only imagine how much worse it is for our military men and women.
