So after spending pretty much the entire afternoon waiting for either Lauren or Chrissy to call so we could do something...not realizing they had already hooked up and gone off to Mentor with Susan...I finally got in touch with Chrissy and we went to Resident Evil: Apocolypse.
Two big misconceptions I had about RE:A:
1. It would be sucky.
Silly me...thinking a movie would be a god-awful chesse-fest just because the *reviewers* said so! I mean, what they hell do *they* know? They hated Van Helsing, after all...I gotta tell you guys, RE:A kicked serious ASS.
2. It wouldn't really be scary.
Ah heh heh....
The PREVIEWS freaked me out for this one. Seriously; there are two more scary films coming out called "White Noises" and "The Grudge" (the second of which, like "The Ring", is based on a Japanese horror film) that had me and Chrissy cowering in the back of the theatre. Though there was a rather amusing point where Chrissy was like "This is freaking me out...I keep thinking I see something move over there!" To which I responded "Um...there *are* two people sitting over there."
But yeah, the movie was pretty damn scary at a lot of points. Zombie kids, zombie dogs...and whatever the hell those red things in the church were, I have no idea, but they scared me shitless. And I would just love to know who had the brilliant idea to walk through a frickin' CEMETARY when you're on the run from zombies...isn't it pretty obvious what's going to wind up happening?!
Both Alice and Jill were kickass, and LJ was hilarious. Angie was cute too...a lot of times little kid characters in movies like these can get pretty annoying, but she wasn't. The Nemesis made me sad. I'm glad that one evil guy got his come-up-ins in the end.
But now I'm going to have to see the next sequel, because I want to know what the fuck Umbrella did to Alice!
I had to go to BioTech this morning (we did an experiment with pH and stuff), but the rest of the day is free. Which meant Mom recruited me to drive Daisy to her vet's appointment...in a bloody rainstorm. Seriously, it was bad...the roads were flooding like crazy. Poor Daisy was crying all the way to and from the vet, and it was really pitiful since she has such a squeaky meow usually anyway. She had to get some vaccinations, so she's been avoiding me all day so far.
I may have Lauren come over later, but other than that I have no plans.
