Hi, everybody! How are you? I'm mostly fine, although I woke up this morning with a bit of a sore throat. Blech.
So it turns out I only get a week off for Spring Break this year. And I have to head back on Easter Sunday, since classes start Monday. Oh well. Such is life.
Not much exciting around here. Grandma's out of town and very sad she's not going to get to see me, especially since I won't be around much come summer. My friends have been pretty busy, so I've mostly just vegged around the house, played Sims2 and watched Law & Order reruns (Stephen Colbert was totally on an episiode of L&O:CI, you guys. It was weird).
Last week I saw 27 Dresses with
eliara and
machi_neko. Then Laur came over and we hung out and...watched almost every single fanvid I have saved, and then we rented Across the Universe, which was on major crack. The good kind.
Oh, and we watched Lost, too. Wow. I'm really happy that
Sun is one of the Oceanic Six, I will say. But I'm not quite clear on the whole
Jin being dead thing. Check this: apparantly some eagle-eyed viewer (as reported in the Plain Dealer...yes, the Cleveland newspaper has a small column dedicated to Lost each week) spotted that the death date on his tombstone was the date the plane crashed. So does this mean Jin is still alive but one of those (reported dead) left behind on the island and Sun is going along with the story? Or that Jin dies at some point later and they just attribute his death to the crash? I dunno, but I will say Sun seemed pretty genuinely distraught when talking to his tombstone. And the Sun we've seen so far doesn't quite strike me as one who would willingly leave her husband behind like that. Unless Jin volunteers? For some reason (on a grimmer note: wasn't Daniel Dae Kim arrested for DUI this summer? As in, the same thing that got ABC to axe the Tailie characters)? All I will say is, if Jin turns out to be the character that dies this week, I will be pissed off. How dumb is it to reveal a character's (supposed) future death, hint that a will die, and then have them be one and the same? OH GEE, I NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED. WHAT GRIPPING TV DRAMA, THIS IS.[sarcasm] Srsly.
Meanwhile, I'm not even touching on the whole
people on the boat going crazy and suididal thing. Uh uh. Oh, and I almost forgot:
MICHAEL. WHAT. (Guess we know who Ben's man on the boat is, though.)
(As long as I'm on the subject of TV shows I spend far too much energy on, I may or may not have gotten up early today to see which Battlestar episodes they were marathoning, you can't prove anything, but! Those of you that have seen the promos they're running for the "Battlestar: The Phenomenon" thingie they're doing before the new season airs...did I just see JOSS WHEDON refer to BSG as the greatest show he's ever seen?? Or is that just what happens to me when I get up too early in the morning?)
Yesterday I had to go to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned (they like me so much, they want me to come back on Thursday for a filling! HURRAH). Then I went to see my dermatologist. I spent the evening balancing my checkbook and trying to figure out the sleeves of my Renn dress. (I did wear my "Everyone loves an Irish girl t-shirt, though. And made green milkshakes.)
Today I went to the grocery store for my mom. Then I went to the DMV. And the bank.
Clearly, I am a raging bundle of excitment and fantasy.
Well, that's pretty much all that's new over in this quarter. Now I'm off to check my flist and see what's up with all of you :)
