Paying my tuition bill and seeing my savings account cut in half makes me want to vomit. Oh god.

So, I make about $8,000 a year after taxes at my current job. I've managed to get through school pretty much on my own. My grandfather has spotted me money here and there, maybe for a total of $3,000, and I owe my mother about the same amount of money through various loans. So yeah...I replaced Ahab (my totaled Saturn SL2) this Friday. I got a nice little 2005 Kia Rio with about 54k miles on it. it's a little peppier than the SL2, there's a bit more rattle during idle because I'm sitting MUCH closer to the engine, but so far I like it ( Read more... )

The movie theater in Kent FINALLY accepts credit cards now. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in there 2 minutes before show time, just to find out I don't have enough cash on me to pay for the ticket, and that their ATM machine was broken, and/or I didn't feel like paying an extra $4 to see the movie with the added ATM fees ( Read more... )

Last night Max and I went to Luna's for dinner with plans of going to game club directly after. On the way I stopped at the ATM to withdraw some money so I could buy groceries and a couple of other things here and there. Yesterday was an adventure (Charlie!) into new dating experience land. I went with take_walker to visit his extended family with his parents. We played a couple of hands of poker and I got the largest pot. I put in two dollars and went home with about $9. It was good.
