Things that are slightly wrong with my car

--So I took my car in for it's first oil change under my regime. Yes, I know, I waited far too long. Part of the reason I realized I needed to do that was because the back tire on the driver's side was underinflated, so I stopped driving the car and made an appointment for yesterday in the morning. Turns out there was a puncture in the tire. Kermit the mechanic gave me a look and asked me how long I've been driving on it like that, "Not at all after I noticed it was underinflated." Turns out it only had 100 pounds of pressure on it. Yes I'm stupid and I know it, thanks. I only drive my car once every week or so anyway so I wouldn't have noticed it right away to begin with. They found a few other minor repairs.

-The tire, obviously, the only old tire on the car was the one that got punctured, they patched it for me, but I probably ought to replace it anyway, just to get them all on the same replacement schedule. The others are relatively new. The Damage: $70-90
-An air filter, or it may have been an oil filter, I can't remember and the statement is in the car - The Damage: $40
-Serpentine Belt is starting to crack. When I told them how much I drive and how far they said it could wait, but I should be aware of it. I'll be fixing it with my next pay check I think. The Damage: $70

Total Damage: ~$200

These are fairly minor things and I'm not pissed off about them at all. It sucks, but it's not like I have to replace the transmission and they're not things that will prevent me from being mobile immediately. I think I'll wait on the air filter and just get the tire and the Serpentine Belt taken care of and get the air filter changed the next time I'm due for an oil change. I'll ask them if I should get it changed before I travel a far distance though, I'd rather not fuck things up because I didn't want to replace a $40 part and I drove my car all of 500 miles or whatever.

driving, money, car, incompetence
