My legs are burning today, haha. I felt restless, so I decided to work out earlier than my usual time. For my squats I have been using two 5 pound weights. However, that hasn't been doing shit for me lately. So, today I decided to unhook my punching bag and use it as a weight. I had it across my shoulders as I did my squats. That seemed to do the trick. The bag only weighs about 40 pounds. That's kind of a disappointment as I wanted at least 50, but oh well.
I've decided that I need free weights. As much as I like the Bowflex, I feel like I could accomplish more with free weights. I think two 25 or 30 pound dumbbells should do the trick.
When I did bicep curls on the Bowflex Monday, it did nothing for me. Maybe I wasn't doing it right, because I only felt the burn on my arms when I worked the triceps. Perhaps it's because I only used a resistance weight of 25 pounds. I should have used 30. Oh well. Today was legs, tomorrow is cardio, Friday is shoulders and chest.
I want to kick some ass. Seriously. I feel like a caged tiger.
