Nebuta Part Three - Dancers

Aug 05, 2010 20:10

So I FINALLY finished my parts for the Apex vid, and I hope they look okay cuz my camera was crapping the hell out on this laptop and the one for the actually PC computer does not work -_- le sigh

Okay, dancers. Dancers in the Nebuta Matsuri wear what is called a 'haneto', which is what's in this picture. I got to stand on the sidewalk and be shuffled as they queued into the parade line.

Haneto come in many different varieties, and you can buy them at the department stores in Aomori.

I'm not sure who this lady is, but the TV cameras were following her around and the Japanese people beside me were ooooohing so I suppose she's famous.

When the sun went down, they lit up their lanterns.

Rasera! Go kids go!

You have to hop when you say Rasera, apparently.

It's hard for me to cut down on the number of photos to post!!! But I hope this is sufficient lol

pics, friends, japan, party, nebuta
