I was also incredibly please that, aside from Wilf, Rose was the only person the Doctor spoke to. And it did mean so much more that she was also the only one that he went to see for purely selfish reasons - because he missed her and he loved her. He was HER Doctor, created just for her, because of her, and of course he wants her there at his end. Of course he doesn't want to go.

The Mickey/Martha threw me completely for a loop, though. I mean, what?!

And yes, I did cheer for Jack/Alonso. I love Ianto. I love Jack/Ianto, and CoE broke me. But it is good to see Jack have some hope for happiness, and who knows how long it's been for him since CoE, now, anyway, right?

The plot was meh, I agree with you there, too, but let's face it, everyone was really watching it just because David was leaving, and that was handled very well. I'm still not sure about Matt Smith; I think I'm a little worried because he was a little too much like Ten, and the regenerations are supposed to be distinct Doctors; as much as Ten was like Nine in certain ways, he was also very clearly someone new and different.

Well, we'll see.

I'm also glad he went to see Rose before she knew him instead of peering in on Rose with HER mortal!Donna!Doctor. Because then he wasn't interfering with her happiness, but still satisfying himself. It was sweet.

Yeah, that was just...yeah. The pairing up of people in a way that seems a little like snap, and therefore pisses me off.

Jack needs hope. As does Torchwood. XD

Who needs plot, right? I was uncertain about Matt Smith, but I think the regenerations become more distinct as they move away from their predecessor. At the point of change, they're still a little like their old selves. But when they change clothes, interact with people, and develop a little, they become distinct. I'll definitely give Eleven a go.
