SGA 5x20: Enemy at the Gate

I was worried this would be awful. I was pleasantly surprised.

It was a military episode, as expected, but it provided some sweet personal moments as well. The Don S. Davis tribute was simple and beautiful, and the BSG reference sneaky! We got to see some faces popping up - CARSON, for one (I thought he might not be there). It's a shame we couldn't have Elizabeth, but we had Sam, Major Davis and Walter, so I'll let that slide.

And it was a good, well-rounded ending. It had appropriate tension: I was convinced Ronon was dead. Really - it reminded me far too much of D'Argo's exit in Peacekeeper Wars - but he came back, and we got a smidge of Ronon/Evan (which I only discovered was a ship this afternoon!).

I loved that Carson got to play a part, that John was about to give it all up but saved by the team, that they almost lost again and that Atlantis almost fried. It was all a fitting ending.

And is that the martial arts woman from a couple of episodes back? Because she is well-suited to Ronon. Though, if that balcony scene is all "coupled", we get Rodney/Jennifer, John/Teyla, Ronon/Kickass!Woman and...Dick/Carson. No. Just...no.

In all - Thank You Atlantis. You have left perhaps a little too earlier, but I had yet to get bored of you, so it's probably for the best. A good show until the end.
